Company History

1982
It All Began With a Simple Plan
Sometimes great things start simply. The company was founded initially to install air cleaning and air pollution control equipment for another company in which Greg Jenson and his father, Bernie Jenson, were partners. Greg became a California licensed contractor and the company’s initial name was Jenson Mechanical Equipment.

Greg continued this relationship until the air cleaning company was sold when his father retired around 1993.

Growth and Expansion
As more and more work came in, the company doubled its size, when it relcoated from its original location in Hayward, CA. to Fremont, CA. To accommodate more growth, the company moved yet again to another location in Fremont, once more doubling its space and then eventually expanding to a unit next door and doubling in space again.

These moves allowed for an increase in fabrication, equipment and employees. This increased the number of customers, including large Fortune 500 companies, helping to give the company added revenues and momentum as it entered the late ‘80s.

1987
It’s All In The Name

With these new licenses, JMI was able to take on a wide range of general constuction projects, including precision foundations and building retrofit work as well as new building construction and site development.
